Woodlands School

Creating Empowered Lives

UNIFORM

Woodlands school aims to make its uniform as accessible as possible.  School uniform is not compulsory but many families choose to purchase items as they feel it adds to a sense of identity.  It can also save children's usual clothes from getting stained through the regular messy activities that happen in school!

If you are worried about affording school uniform,  please speak to one of the Senior Leaders and we will support you.

If you wish our child to participate in school uniform,  we ask that they wear the following:

  • White polo shirt
  • Bottle green jumper or cardigan (Reception to Year 6)
  • Burgundy jumper or cardigan (Year 7 to Year 11)
  • Dark grey or black trousers, shorts or skirts.

During the summer months girls may also wear checked dresses. These should be bottle green or burgundy according to their school year.

Items can be bought from a variety of shops, our parents currently use Tesco, Asda, M&S or Matalan.

Alternatively you can buy items with our logo on from myclothing.com at the following link

https://myclothing.com/pupil-uniform/26961.school

We often have donations of pre-loved uniform that we can share.  If you are interested in accessing this clothing,  please just let your class teacher know.

Please see our Uniform Protocol Policy on the policies page for more information, you'll find it under non-statutory policies.

POST 16 TRANSPORT AND BURSARIES

Post 16 Transport has to be funded by parents irrespective of Local Authority.  Parents and carers can apply to the school for a Bursary towards covering these costs.  We speak to families about Bursaries in their child's Year 11 EHCP review meetings.  Due to their levels of need,  all pupils at Woodlands are eligible to apply for a vulnerable group bursary.  Please ask to speak to our Sixth form Lead,  Nick Crosley, for more information.
