Nursing
Who we are
We are a team of highly skilled paediatric nurses and health care assistants, working as part of the Community Paediatric Nursing Team, based at Woodlands School.
What we do
The team has specialist knowledge of: epilepsy, enteral feeding, tracheostomies and many more complex conditions. We are available throughout the school day to monitor and meet the complex health needs of all the pupils.
We provide training and support for the staff working with the children across the school to enable them to safely meet the pupils' care needs during the school day. The team also supports the wide range of off-site activities, available for pupils, to enhance their educational experience.
Who we work with
We liaise with other health services, including:
- The other staff in the Community Paediatric Nursing Team.
- Paediatricians and Therapists who visit the school.
- Dieticians, Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists.
- Opthalmists and Dentists.
Dr Glass, who is based at the Child Development Centre, holds a regular clinic here at Woodlands to see her patients.
Keeping in touch
We are always available to speak with parents or carers to discuss all aspects of pupils' health needs.
