On Wednesday 25th February 2015 over 100 young people from across 15 schools in Devon and Cornwall took part in a lecture style event (with practical elements) led by experts in disability sports where they learnt about becoming a young leader and specifically supporting young people with SEND at sporting events.

Participants took part in theory style lectures led by disability experts discussing what it takes to be a young leader and they learnt about the qualities needed of a young leader in supporting young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities…

* Delivering high quality, fun and inclusive sessions

* Supporting others to fulfil their potential
They also took part in practical elements (inclusion sports) as well as listening to and watching demonstrations from Table Tennis and Fencing Paralympians.
William Larkin, Alex Smith, Heather Williams, Cory Lovell and Brandon Fosker represented Woodlands School and were a credit to us.
Those that took part will now return to their local area/school where they will be organising a Level 1 or 2 event using inclusion sports and working with young people with SEND.
