Naomi has been a school governor for seven years in the role of Parent Governor & Chair of Finance, and latterly Local Authority Governor and Chair of Governors. In a professional capacity, Naomi has commissioned and managed Mental Health, Learning Disability and Children's Services. She has also managed placements for young people and adults with very complex needs. Naomi is delighted to have been nominated Chair of the Woodlands and Wood View Short Breaks Governing Body

ANDREA HEMMENS - HEADTEACHER

Andrea has worked in settings where learning presents challenges for nearly 30 years. She relishes the problem solving that this requires and is driven to see every child reach their potential. Andrea has been Headteacher at Woodlands School for 12 years and enjoys working on the multi-school Wood View site.

JASON WILLINGHAM - VICE CHAIR - CO-OPTED GOVERNOR

Formerly a parent governor, Jason is the father of a Woodlands pupil. Prior to moving to Devon,  Jason managed a team for RBS in London. He is now a wages clerk and carer for his son.

DONNA HOLLOWAY - STAFF GOVERNOR

Areas of Responsibility: Short Breaks and Sixth Form / PfA Curriculum

Member of:  Appeals Panel

Donna has worked for Woodlands School for over 20 years, mainly concentrating on communication skills. She currently has a split role with communication and working 1:3 with a pupil. Donna is an expert in deaf-blind communication and has taught BSL. This is her first time as a Governor.

NICKY SLIGHT - PARENT GOVERNOR

Nicky is a trained pharmacist and previously worked as a manager in Boots. Her son is a pupil at Woodlands school. Her aim as a Parent Governor is to use some of her professional skills to see every child reach their potential.

VICKY GREIG - CO-OPTED GOVERNOR

Areas of Responsibility: Health & Safety and Premises

Member of:  Pay Committee and Appeals Panel

Vicky is a Registered General Nurse whose nephew attends Woodlands School. Throughout his life it has been a privilege to observe his progress and his enjoyment within the school setting. She hopes that by being a Governor it will assist in ensuring that education is meaningful and accessible for all.

JENNIFER PICKEN - CO-OPTED GOVERNOR

Area of Responsibility: Complex and Sensory curriculum

Jen has worked in education for 11 years.  She is currently a Teacher at Cann Bridge School, where she leads the Early Years Foundation Stage and Communication, Language and Literacy.  Jen also volunteers for the RNLI as a Youth Education Advisor.  This is her first time as a Governor.

ANDREW SHAW- CO-OPTED GOVERNOR

Area of Responsibility: Sixth Form / PfA Curriculum,  SLT Link Governor

Member of: Appeals Committee,  Headteacher's Appraisal Committee

Andy is an Adult Registered Nurse and has and specialised in complex care in the community.  He previously served in the Royal Marines for 23 years. Andy is now Head of Community Services for St Luke's Hospice and manages the palliative care specialist services for Plymouth and surrounding areas.

DIANE O'CALLAGHAN - PARENT GOVERNOR

Area of Responsibility: TBC

Member of: Appeals Committee, Short Breaks and Core Life Skills curriculum

Diane is a parent of a child currently in the secondary department.  She has a background in working in child protection and safeguarding, has led a probation service and is a very experienced foster carer.

DR JONATHAN HARVEY - TRUST GOVERNOR

Area of Responsibility: Life Skills Curriculum,  SLT Link Governor

Jonathan is a lecturer in Education and research assistant at the College of St Mark and St John (MarJon) in Plymouth.  He is programme lead BA (Hons) Special Educational Needs and Disability Studies.
